Caroll Spinney, periodically credited when Carroll Spinney or even Ed Spinney (innate December 26, 1933 in Waltham, Massachusetts, USA) is a puppeteer most famous for swimming Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch on the children's television indicate Sesame Street. He hwhen described his own experience as Heavy Bird as "a lot like growing up to be Mickey Mouse... only taller!"

While he was in the military machine, Caroll wrote & illustrated Harvey, a comic strip about military life. He too animated the series of black & white cartoons called Crazy Crayon. These were done under a nom de guerre "Ed Spinney."

Spinney created the puppet of the cat known as Picklepuss, long prior to he joined a first cast of Sesame Street. This cat & his more friends joined Spinney within entertaining audiences of the 1960s.

When Oscar a Churl he has written Training Exist as the Crosspatch, the Whitman Tell-The-Tale picture book.

Spinney presently lives around Woodstock, Connecticut.
